The hidden knowledge makes more sense than the doctrine of the Bible as it is taught. The problem is that Christians don’t search for information outside the Bible and or make connections . There’s more information out there. If you search, you will find .

Why am I thinking of Taylor Welch and his guests so much during this talk?

I recently read a book titled, “Ever Ancient, Ever New.” I don’t agree with its conclusion, but the thing it opened my eyes to was that the Traditional/Liturgical expressions of Christianity are leaning more and more toward this similar mindset: “Spiritual Experience ( > or = ) Scripture”.

I don't think all analogies are meant to simulate doctrine, I think some are meant to invoke empathy and gratitude using hyperbole. It depends on the context in which the analogy is used imo

The discussion on gnosticism was very interesting. It's funny how gnostics didn't deny Christ's divinity (like people do today)... But they were actually denying Christ's HUMANITY/body. More Christians need to be reminded of the bodily resurrection every Sunday!

Mysticism is nothing more than being in a love relationship with God. Whatever special experiences you have in that relationship are secondary. Nothing matters without love.

I feel like you are conflating charismatics with mystics. This isn’t always the case. In the charismatic movement, I’ve seen abuses, but believing and expecting the supernatural isn’t mysticism. It’s just part of being a Christian. The mysticism I am concerned about is the breath prayer, centering prayer, chanting, emptying the mind, and yoga that is NOT found in scripture, but is currently being promoted in many non charismatic, evangelical churches.

I love your content and you as a speaker more for sharing your experience. It mirrors mine so much, and since I started listening to you, I feel the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart. I have always been a Christian, but no one could evwr answer my questions, and Church grew so stale and routine. It was through apologetics, healthy debates, and deep dives into individual books of the Bible that my Passion for Jesus grew. I think traditionalism and conservatism has stifled the intellectual mind and questioning voices. Young people want to explore the outskirts beyond our boundaries, but older generations reign us in and tell us to do as we're told. The downside is that the World is more than happy to fill our need for deeper understanding with happy lies, philosophy, and individualism that just steps over the line of heresy.

Jenn’s story is how I think so many people get involved with occult/witch craft/new age. We all grew up in lukewarm churches, and parent who didn’t teach us about God/ Jesus BUT did some kind of spiritual thing at home.

So you went to the conferences to find something wrong with every speaker and you say you did. So You didn’t go to worship the KING ? Hmmm I just want to give you some advice be very careful who you touch, you might find yourself up against GOD himself...

I spent almost 14 years in a Pentecostal church. Since most of us were in our 20’s, we basically grew up together. There were some very special people in that church, and I loved them. They became my family in every sense of the word. I can relate to Shandra’s story so much. Fast forward 2 decades, and I started to realize I believed and walked in things that I had never checked against the Word. Amazing to discover that I was buying into so much that was not scriptural. Then I started watching podcasts about these different subjects and shocked to discover, I was in error in so many ways. Now, I listen to the podcasts and learn, but checking the Word to make sure these podcasters are sharing the real truth. And I agree, emotions are not wrong, because God is an emotional God. Like anything else they have their place, and we should not be led by them.

When I have heard the term Christian Nationalism it is equated with Nazism.

Yeah know mann, some put the triune triangle right side up 🔼 and say that the Father is at the very top and anything else is satanic. Others say that the triune triangle is upside down🔽 and anything else is blasphemous, because Jesus is equal to the Father. I personally think Jesus is our Lord and Savior, and despite where he is on the triangle, no depiction could ever change that, and I'm grateful for Him, but I just wish all the denominations could come to an agreement about it
